PDO Threads 101 Certification Course
The PDO Threads 101 course at RUMA Academy is a 5-hour introductory training designed for medical professionals—such as RNs, NPs, PAs, and MDs—who wish to expand their aesthetic skill set to include non-surgical lifting techniques using PDO threads. This comprehensive course covers patient selection, facial anatomy, various PDO thread types (smooth, barbed, twist), and complication management. Participants will learn to perform PDO thread lifts in areas including the cheek vector, jawline, perioral lines, nasolabial folds, neck, and eyebrows. Live models are provided for hands-on practice during the training. To engage in the hands-on component, attendees must hold a Compact Nursing License or a Utah license (PA, NP, or MD). Those unable to obtain a Utah license are welcome to attend as observers. A Certificate of Completion is awarded upon finishing the course. CE/CME credits are not currently offered.

Participants will learn to treat areas such as the masseters, mentalis, nasalis, depressor anguli oris, perform lip flips, address platysmal bands, apply microtox for fine lines, and manage hyperhidrosis. Additionally, the course covers dermal filler injections in the lower face using both needle and cannula techniques, as well as Kybella administration with a cannula. Live models are provided for hands-on practice, offering attendees practical experience under expert supervision. To participate in the hands-on component, attendees must hold a Compact Nursing License or a Utah license (PA, NP, or MD); those unable to obtain a Utah license may attend as observers or apply for a temporary license. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of neuromodulators and dermal fillers, with a particular emphasis on RUMA's signature cheek and under-eye treatments. While attendees will have the opportunity to palpate and understand specific technique depths and approaches on live models, hands-on injection time may be limited depending on the areas covered and time constraints. The course accommodates 6-8 providers, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment. A Utah medical license is not required for participation. CE/CME credits are not currently offered.
